Wazzup is the most popular service for integrating messengers with Bitrix24. It lets you handle WhatsApp, Instagram Direct, and Telegram directly within deal cards, complete with conversation history and automated notifications. Here is a step-by-step breakdown of the setup.
Step 1. Choosing the Connection Type
The key decision at the outset is Personal API versus Business API.
Personal API
- Connects via QR code, just like WhatsApp Web.
- Uses your regular WhatsApp number.
- Lower running costs: there is no per-message fee.
- No bulk campaigns: there is a risk of being blocked for violating Meta's policies.
- Suitable for small teams and one-on-one communication with clients.
Business API
- The official API from Meta. A verified account with a checkmark badge.
- Can be connected from multiple devices simultaneously.
- Supports bulk template campaigns (subject to Meta approval).
- More expensive: per-message charges under Meta's pricing plus the Wazzup fee.
- Suitable for mid-sized and large businesses running regular campaigns.
Step 2. Registering with Wazzup
Create an account at wazzup24.com (or wazzup-24.kz for KZ legal entities) and choose a plan based on the number of channels and managers. Entry-level plans start at 6,000 KZT per number per month. KZ legal entities pay in tenge with no currency conversion.
Step 3. Connecting Within Bitrix24
In the Bitrix24 Marketplace, locate the Wazzup app, install it, sign in, and link your Wazzup channels to the CRM. All conversations then start appearing in Open Channels and are automatically linked to client cards by phone number.
Step 4. Configuring Routing
Wazzup can distribute incoming chats among managers in a round-robin fashion, by workload, or based on rules (for example, a returning client is routed to their dedicated manager). This is configured in Bitrix24 Open Channels. It is critical once your team grows beyond 3 people.
Step 5. Templates and Automated Messages
Create templates for common replies: greetings, order confirmations, and payment details. A manager can insert them in a single click. With the Business API, templates must be approved separately by Meta, which takes 1 to 3 days.
Common Pitfalls
- WhatsApp Personal does not tolerate bulk campaigns or identical messages sent in succession, which can result in the number being blocked.
- If a client last messaged more than 24 hours ago, the Business API only allows you to initiate a conversation through an approved template.
- Instagram Direct works only with business accounts linked to a Facebook page.
- Conversation history from before the connection remains in WhatsApp on the phone and cannot be automatically migrated into Bitrix24.
